Health union in Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital, Gusau, Zamfara State capital has embarked on a peaceable protest over non-payment of workers’ salaries.
Pegars gathered that the union had earlier issued a one-week ultimatum to the Zamfara State Government to clear their members’ salary arrears and appropriate the half salaries being paid to some of them.
The union said that they contacted related authorities over the challenge but nothing was achieved regardless of a number of assurances.
They stated the failure of the related authorities to act on their calls for inside the 24 hours ultimatum earlier issued pressured them to stage the peaceable protest.
