Military Under Pressure Through Inducements To Compromise 2023 Elections — CDS Irabor – Pegars News

Lucky Irabor, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) of the Nigerian army has revealed its personnel are confronted with immense stress to compromise the 2023 normal elections.

Irabor disclosed this on Thursday to journalists at the 61st session of the State House Ministerial Briefing organised by the Presidential Communications Team at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja,

The CDS stated, army personnel face stress by way of inducements, but the armed forces is taking the obligatory measures to guarantee compliance with the directive of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) to stay apolitical.

“Personnel are being trained to be more professional even as the rules of engagement have been codified for distribution before, during and after the elections,” in accordance to him.

He additionally disclosed that a number of army rescue operations and negotiations have led to the releasing of at least 300,000 individuals from the palms of their abductors since 2014 whereas refugees who fled the North-East due to insurgency, have began to return.
