Ekpe Ogbu, the kidnapped Benue State Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, has regained his freedom.
The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) SP Catherine Anene confirmed the commissioner’s launch Tuesday night on the command’s media platform.
It was earlier reported that the captors opened talks and demanded N5 million ransom.
The commissioner was stated to have been kidnapped at the Adankari Junction alongside the Otukpo-Ado Road on Saturday.
The state authorities, who defined that the Hilux van the sufferer was travelling in had been recovered by the Police in Otukpo on Saturday, vowed to rescue the commissioner unharmed.
