A political bigwig, Ademola Adeyemi Owoade, popularly known as Eni Wa, has officially declared his intention to run for the Osun State House of Assembly seat to represent Irewole/Isokan in the 2023 general election under the everything Progressives Congress (APC).
The event, which witnessed large turnout of party chieftains, national delegates, members and representatives of major ethnic groups held after extensive consultations with various stakeholders in Irewole/Isokan constituency, comprising traditional rulers, leaders of Community Development Committee and Community Development Association, traders’ unions, etc.
Speaking in the event, where he also marked his birthday, Owoade disclosed that his declaration is in the interest of democracy, good governance and quality representation for the constituents.
According to him, it was also intended to formally seek the support of the people for the actualisation of his aspiration.
“I, Hon Owoade, stand before you today to use this epoch making event of my birthday to humbly and respectfully notify you of my intention to contest the forthcoming party primaries and ultimately in the 2023 general election to be elected as member, Osun State House of Assembly, to represent Irewole/Isokan constituency, on the platform of our great party, everything Progressives Congress (APC).
“I decided to contest after having a clear understanding and knowing that a legislator is purely elected to better the lots of his constituent members. That is like giving me an official platform to carry out what I’ve been doing and would like to continue doing it on a larger scale.
“I have adequately prepared myself after being elected to effectively and skillfully deploy the official means of lobbying to ensure that the rights and privileges of our constituents are not negotiated away.
“I want to express my sincere appreciation to all present here today, for creating the time to participate in this historic event of my declaration to contest for the above seat.”
